2:30 - 3:30New York’s Educational Opportunity Centers: Moving Toward Common Assessment & Curriculum for the Entry Level Workforce

William Chalmers, Assistant Provost & Director of EOC Operations, and board member Sherryl Weems will present on initiatives underway to develop and implement a common assessment and curriculum for use in the EOCs with entry level workers.

New York’s ten EOCs have a dual responsibility for providing innovative academic programs leading to higher education, and vocational training programs leading to gainful employment and economic self-sufficiency. Services to industry include skills-training for current employees and contract services with community businesses – linking potential employees to custom training and ultimately, job placement.
