SUBJECT:	REVISED: Planning Guidelines for the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) Local Plan Modification for Program Year (PY) 2008-2009, for WIA Title I-B and Wagner Peyser Programs
Purpose:	To advise LWIAs of a change in the due date for submitting their Local Plan Modification for PY 2008-2009 for WIA Title I-B and Wagner Peyser programs.
Background:	On January 16, 2008, NYSDOL issued Workforce Development System Technical Advisory #08-1 to transmit instructions and a format for developing the WIA Local Plan Modification. The date for submittal to NYSDOL was April 11, 2008. This date has now been changed to April 25, 2008.
Action:	A copy of the guide with the revised time table (page 1) is attached. This is the only change within the guide. It is not necessary to use the new attachment to complete your plan. As stated in TA 08-1, the WIA Local Plan Modification for Program Year 2008-2009 must be submitted electronically to the NYSDOL following a statutorily mandated 30 day public review and comment period. Directions for plan submittal are included in the planning guidelines.
