Our mission is to
understand and
respond
to the needs of employers while
maximizing the potential of
job seekers to improve the
economic health of
Ulster County
The Ulster County Workforce Development Board is composed of
business leaders and representatives from education, organized labor,
rehabilitation agencies, economic development agencies, community
based organizations, and public employment agencies. The
majority of the Board are from the private sector. Members are
appointed by the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature and serve
two-year terms.
The Ulster County Workforce Development Board sets the direction of
the Ulster County Office of Employment and Training (the
administrative entity for the Ulster County Workforce Investment
Area). The Board reviews the results of current work and
develops policy to establish plans and programs that will assist both
local businesses in sustaining a qualified workforce and residents to
achieve self-sufficiency.
The Board is also charged with helping design seamless access to
all agencies that offer workforce services to both the business
community and to job seekers at the Ulster County Workforce
Development OneStop Center.
